Installing Or Replacing The Signs For Your Business

Blog

When it is time to replace the signs for your business, you have a lot of options to think about. You might want to upgrade the type of sign you are using, change the placement of the signs, or add additional signage to the property to make your business easier to find. Whatever you choose to do, working with a professional sign installation company like Beaverton Signs is the best way to get the most out of your new signs.

Deciding On Sign Placement

Choosing where you want the new sign for your business might be tougher than you think. If the old sign worked well and you want to keep the sign there, you have that option. If you didn't feel it was the best place for it, now is the time to get the sign company to install the new sign in a different location. Maybe there is a spot that will be easier to see from the road or is more appealing to look at from outside the building. Whatever the reason, show the installer where you would like the sign so they can check for the proper supports and electrical sources that they need. If everything is in place, they can work with you to move the location of the sign. If it is not, you may need to get a contractor to come and add the supports or other requirements to the structure.

Adding Additional Signs

If you feel that you need to add a sign on the road or entrance, you can have the sign company make one for you as well. The sign can be a smaller version of your current sign so the branding is consistent, or it can have other information on it. You will need to prep the site with electricity for the lighting and potentially a concrete pad for the sign to be installed on. In most cases, the sign company can provide you with the requirements for the additional sign so that you can have a contractor get the site ready ahead of time. If the sign is on a pole, the mounting requirements may be different from one near the ground, so it is important that you get everything installed properly.

Installing The Signs

On the day of the installation, the sign company will show up with the signs and equipment needed to install everything. They may ask that you block off the area around the front of the building where the sign is being installed so no one can walk under it for safety reasons. Once the sign is installed on the building, they can take the old sign down for you and install the additional signs as well. Unless there is a complication, most sign companies can have the new signs in place and working in a day or two.

Never Underestimate the Importance of Good Business Signs

When I started my first business, I had taken a few business classes in college, but I still had a lot to learn. I had a good product to sell, but at first, sales were very slow. I wasn't sure just how to drum up business, and I didn't have money left in my budget to invest in a big marketing campaign. I was very lucky that local marketing professional stopped into my business, and although I couldn't afford to hire him, he did give me one free important tip: invest in better signage! Since signs are relatively affordable, I took his advice and traded in my old banner for a quality professionally designed sign. Foot traffic and sales increased rapidly. I learned a lot during the sign design process that I want to share on my new blog to help other small business owners out there who are struggling!
